2026Latest
Timbre has a new look: slanted buttons, glass panels and one gold action to a screen, from your Library to Paint.
- Dragging a model now turns it the way Blender does; Settings → Appearance can reverse it.
- The texture picker lists the likeliest textures first for each map, and the model view's bars line up.
- Paint's sheet view and the layers sit beside the model instead of over it.
- Pointing at a texture in the texture picker shows it on the model before you choose it.
- The model view's tools, panels and bars sit side by side and no longer cover each other, at any window size.
- When an update can't bring a few mods along, the rest of your library still opens, and Health lists those mods with Try again.
- Importing your convene history needs one press: open Convene History in the game and Timbre carries on, banner by banner.
- In game opens as a full page: a tab for each character on screen, and pointing at her or a part lights it in the game.
- Convene is on the rail: import your pull history, see your pity and plan pulls along it.
- Timbre has a new icon: a glowing Chladni figure, the pattern sand draws on a plate ringing at an overtone.
- Convene is one page: plan pulls along your pity, see what each five-star took, and replay every ten-pull.
- A character wearing a mix shows one outfit at a time on her page; point at a band or pick a bar to see another.
- The tools, bars and panels of Paint, Fit and the model view wear the same glass and square-cut corners as the rest of Timbre.
- Health refreshes as mods appear or leave the library, and Check again rereads every tidy-up.
- Inside opens straight on the mod's description, scrolls, and a tap on the slant gives the text the whole page.
- The update page shows the new Timbre downloading, and offers Update now once it has arrived.
- On a mod's Inside tab, each change kept over an update shows a picture of your texture and the update's.
- Quitting Timbre with an unsaved description edit now asks whether to save it first.
- A mod's page has an Inside tab that reads its description in plain words; a row opens the file right on the picture.
- A mod's description reads as clean text, each problem said in plain words under its line.
- Browse's and Downloads' top picture now sits below the window's bar, so search and Play stand clear of it.
- Search and Play stay readable over pictures at the top of a page, on a soft patch of glass.
- Health shows every kind of problem and tidy-up in a list on the left, and the one you pick beside it with its fix.
- The buttons that choose how a mod's picture shows stand on their own glass, readable on any picture.
- Strings and numbers in a mod's description are now coloured apart.
- Every mod's pictures open in one viewer with zoom, copy, remove and make cover, from the pane, a row or the grid.
- Tap a mod's picture to see it whole right on its page, then copy it or make it the cover.
- Downloads shows each step a mod takes as it lands, and an archive that will not open asks for another file.
- Rename a character or weapon, or change its picture, right on its page: press Edit and type over its name.
- A weapon's page now opens on the same big header as a character's, and a weapon mod can be filed under any weapon when you add it.
- Hints look the same everywhere and never hide behind the header, and the Library's selection marks match the buttons.
- Adding mods from files no longer keeps the import window open: they show in Downloads and land there, one after another.
- Browse and Downloads open on a wide picture running to the window's top, and Downloads shows what is next beside the arriving mod.
- The Mod grid setting offers Even and Masonry; a grid set to Slanted shows as Even.
- Your Mod grid choice now shapes the mod pictures on GameBanana, Downloads and History too.
- Tooltips now wear the same dark plate and sharp corners as the rest of Timbre.
- Dialogs, menus and floating bars now have the same sharp corners as the buttons they hold.
- Rows, small buttons and banners across Timbre now share the slanted cut of its buttons, and a chosen row lights its edge.
- History takes back your last 30 days, and Health's Tidy up shows the space old versions take, with Let go to free it.
- Every mod you add or update shows in History, where Take back removes it again and Put back returns it.
- Report a problem now follows each report on GitHub and says when a release fixes it, and when you have the fix.
- Downloads opens on the same hero as Browse, turning through what you added last while nothing is arriving.
- Play now shows what the game is doing: each step as it starts, who is on screen, and why your mods are missing.
- Opening a character is smooth: her portrait flies into her page, which arrives complete, and her mods rise in.
- Banners are frosted glass, show the mod's cover in its character's colour, and put Open on the right.
- What's new lists every earlier release under its version, so you can read any release's notes in Timbre.
- History takes back any change, not only the newest, wherever the mods it changed are still as it left them.
- Downloads and History are pages of their own: watch what's arriving, cancel a download outright, and take back a change from its card.
- Updates and what's new open as a full page: the highlights with their pictures, every change one press away, readable offline.
- Type a setting's name in the Ctrl+K search to jump straight to it in Settings.
- Settings → In game → Keys marks a key two of Overtone's actions share in amber and names the other.
- Settings opens as a page of its own beside the rail, with a search and every section listed down the side.
- Opening a mod no longer stretches or jumps its picture, and a worn mod in the Slanted grid shows a lit edge.
- The top of Timbre's window now shows its name, centred above the app.
- Messages now arrive as cards in the bottom-right corner: trouble stays until you deal with it, and progress shrinks to a slim strip.
- Settings → Appearance can keep the window's controls always shown instead of hiding them at the top edge.
- Choose how a character's mods are laid out in Settings → Appearance: an even grid, slanted tiles or masonry.
- Ctrl+K searches GameBanana, and Browse's hero adds a mod to your library in one press.
- Browse opens on the week's most liked mod, your characters with what is new for each, and rows that open whole.
- Browse's tiles show a mod's other pictures as you move across them and say what you already have.
- Settings → Appearance → Mod pictures chooses how every mod's page shows its picture.
- A mod's page can show its picture fitted, whole, or behind the whole page, switched from the picture.
- Installing from a GameBanana page now shows its progress there and turns the page into the installed mod.
- A character's header fits your window and shows each mod's picture whole, without cutting off heads.
- Choosing a character in Health and the in-game panel uses the same search as adding a mod.
- Choosing whom a mod is for now looks like its files: a search and every character by her element.
- Choose mods with the round check on each tile, then Wear, Mix, Group, Move or Delete them from the bar below.
- Adding a mod now flows from the Add panel into its page, and the page no longer shows the library through it.
- Clicking a mod on a character's page opens its full page; Back returns to her mods.
- A character's page has a row above her mods with Find, Mix and the filter, and her header is quieter.
- Adding a mod from a link, an archive or an update now opens as a full page with room for its pictures and files.
- Add a mod links to the game's page on GameBanana, to find a mod to paste.
- Add a mod now dims the window: drop a mod anywhere, paste a GameBanana link, or choose files.
- Opening a mod now carries its picture from the grid into its panel and on to its full page.
- A character whose mods change the same part now shows an amber dot on her Library tile.
- A mod's side panel and its full page now look like the character page, with Wear in place of Enabled.
- A character's page opens on a large picture of what she wears, which folds into the top bar as you scroll.
- Ctrl+K shows your recent characters, pictures for every result, and what each character is wearing.
- Adding or updating a mod now shows it as its page will look, with clearer, shorter messages when something is wrong.
- The Library shows each character's avatar on her element's colour, with what she wears, and filters by element.
- While the game runs with Overtone, Play becomes In game and opens what the game is drawing.
- The top bar stays clear until the page scrolls under it, and Search is a button in the bar.
- Downloads stay in the left bar with a ring that fills as they arrive, and the bar's marker glides to where you are.
- The window now takes the colour of the character you're looking at, and the colour of whoever your pointer rests on in the Library.
- A mod's pane and page let you set its cover, hide a picture with Undo, and add pictures by dropping or pasting them.
- A mod's page shows every screenshot whole in its strip, and its arrows sit centred.
- A mod's page edits its author, version and link the way adding a mod does: ✎, type, Enter.
- Updating a mod from its GameBanana page now picks the file that replaces it whole and warns about any other, as a mod's own Update does.
- Opening an archive in a list of several now unfolds it into the same sheet as a single import, and nothing jumps while archives load.
- Adding a mod from GameBanana and importing an archive now look the same, with the author, version and link editable in place.
- Meshes you bring into a mod in Blender, from another mod, WWMI-Tools or a file, now bend with the character as soon as you save.
- On a Mac you can drag a GameBanana link from your browser onto Timbre to add the mod.
- Every screen has one back arrow in the same corner, and it returns to the screen you were on before.
- The import window is narrower, so a mod's picture and fields sit closer together.
- Add a mod opens on an empty card to drop a mod on, and the import window shows at once while archives are read.
- A GameBanana link in the import dialog fills in the mod's author, version and pictures, and its cover unless you picked one.
- A mod from GameBanana that holds several characters is filed under each of them, and the character picker says where a mod goes.
- Importing a mod is simpler: pick the cover, add or remove pictures, and fix names right in the list.
- On Linux, Delete in Timbre now moves a mod to the Trash, where your file manager can put it back.
- Timbre now installs on a Mac with Apple silicon and on Linux to manage your mods, and keeps itself up to date there.
- On a Mac, Timbre manages your library, deletes go to the Trash and shortcuts use ⌘; playing and updating stay on Windows.
- A mod you edited in Blender now picks up better texture placement too, and keeps your edit.
- A problem report now includes what your game showed Overtone about each character, so a fix can reach every player.
- Mods get their textures right on a fresh install, without anyone having to play each character first.
- Updating a mod no longer freezes the preview and Paint while the new version is merged.
- Adding a mod no longer freezes the preview and Paint while it is made native.
- Timbre stays quick while the game runs with many mods on, even when the game draws a mesh none of them describes.
- GameBanana pages you opened before appear at once, even after restarting Timbre.
- A GameBanana page you open again appears at once while Timbre checks it for changes.
- Timbre notices what changed in your mods folder faster.
- The model view's parts list and counts show only the figure you have chosen.
- The model view centres each character on what is drawn, holds its size between tabs, and Paint's panels line up.
- The model view centres its switches and the model on the window, keeps your camera as you switch tabs, and eases panels in.
- The model view has Undo and Redo buttons, and its switches stand on their own without a bar around them.
- The part card's buttons are icons: show only this part, hide it, or paint it.
- Copy picture in the model view puts the picture on the clipboard again.
- The texture picker holds still as you try textures, suggests by map, and a click on the model picks a part instead of hiding it.
- A mod made by a newer Overtone now says to update Timbre in its Inside notes, as the Health page does.
- Settings saved by an early beta now carry over to each game instead of being skipped.
- After a power cut, textures and edited models that were cut short are rebuilt instead of drawing broken.
- A model you save from Blender is no longer left broken by a power cut during the save.
- Timbre's icon in the Windows taskbar is sharp instead of blurry.
- Pressing a dropdown's edge or scrollbar no longer closes it.

- Moving between pages keeps one top bar: Play no longer doubles or jumps.
- The split picture on a History card leans like every other slanted edge.
- A character's page opens with her outfit and mods in place, instead of blinking while the library is busy.
- Report a problem's cards and text box have the same sharp corners as its buttons, and its side column lines up.
- Report a problem's kinds slide a slanted plate to the one you pick.
- Redo now puts back only what Undo took, in order, and never a change you took back from its History card.
- Report a problem's attachment rows highlight as you point at them, and each optional file is switched by its whole row.
- Settings no longer jumps when you open Help.
- Browse and Downloads say how long ago something was the same way, down to the minute.
- The sidebar's first icon now lines up with the page title.
- What's new no longer flashes as it opens, shows where its notes will be while it reads them, and follows the highlight you point at.
- A missing cover or screenshot looks the same everywhere, washed in its character's colours where Timbre knows whose it is.
- What's new lines the list of changes up with the update's details, and says plainly when a release has no highlights.
- When Timbre can't reach GitHub, About says so in one sentence instead of a wall of error text.
- The back arrow at the top left is easier to see.
- Reduce motion's Always now calms every animation Timbre draws, and the system's setting is followed as it changes.
- Reduce transparency now turns off every blur and see-through panel, and Never keeps the window's colour wash.
- A mod's name keeps one size from its GameBanana page to its own page, and Escape while renaming no longer closes it.
- Browse says when a character's highlights could not load and offers Retry, and Space previews the mod you are on.
- A mod's page shows its description, outfit and Blender buttons again, and typing its page link fetches its pictures.
- A mod's page opens from wherever you pick it with its picture gliding in and its details already there.
- The variants on a mod's page line their names up in one column, and their redundant tooltips are gone.
- A mod page's picture layout switch is a rounded control, and the layout now wipes in with its blur already in place.

- A GameBanana mod's page now opens in its character's colour, its buttons where adding a mod puts them.
- A character's page glows in her colour behind both the header and her mods.
- Opening a character or a mod takes on its colour as the page opens, not a moment after.
- A GameBanana mod's page now fills the window, its pictures to the top, like adding a mod.
- Imported mods no longer take their cover or screenshots from texture folders.
- The selection bar blurs only over mods beneath it, the folded header blurs too, and a short window no longer scrolls past the grid.
- Clicking a mod opens it at once, and the selection bar sits below the grid instead of over it.
- Adding a mod no longer flickers as its page opens, its pictures show, and its colour lights the whole window.
- Clicking a mod opens it again first time, double-click wears it, and the selection bar sits flat along the bottom.
- An outfit with no mods shows one centred line, and a missing picture is only the blurred character.
- Delete is red again, a mod pane's buttons show on bright pictures, and a selected tile's outline is no longer cut off.
- Timbre's hints and notes are shorter and say only what to do.
- A mod with many variants shows six and a Show all button, and its page scrolls without a bar over the pictures.
