Overtone, the Overtone MCP server and Timbre: terms of the beta

These builds are a beta. Their copyright is held by Ivan Lisovyi.

You may download, install and use them, free of charge, on your own computers. You may not redistribute, sell or publish them, or anything made from them, without written permission.

They are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall the author be liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from them or from their use, including any harm to your games, your mods or your files. Keep a copy of what you cannot replace. Nothing here limits a right you have by law and cannot give up.

The author may change these builds, or stop offering them, at any time.

Overtone and Timbre are independent. No game publisher makes, endorses or supports them. Game, character and weapon names belong to their owners.

Mods may be against a game's terms of service, and using them can get a game account restricted or banned. Whether to use them is between you and the game's publisher.

Overtone, Timbre and the MCP server send no usage data, crash reports or identifiers to the author. Timbre contacts GameBanana for mods and their updates, Nanoka for character and weapon lists, and the beta's release site for new versions; each sees your IP address and the Timbre version, and its own terms apply. Your library, settings and logs stay on your computer. A log or diagnostics bundle you send for help may hold folder names and paths.

The author intends to publish the source of Overtone under an open-source licence in time, most likely the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later. This is an intention, not a promise: no date, licence or scope is committed to. A build whose source the author publishes under a licence is under that licence instead of these terms; every other build stays under these terms.

The third-party components these builds include are under their own licences, listed in NOTICES.txt beside this file.
